The eight (8) newly sworn-in Circuit Court Judges are Dorinda Smith-Arthur, Alfred Kwabena Asiedu, Veronique Abena Praba Manfort, Charles Kwasi Acheampong and Sylvester Nii Okine Ablorh. The rest are Joyce Boahen, Rita Amonyiwah Edusah and Anthony Aduku- Aidoo..

The Chief Justice Sophia Akuffo further encouraged the Judges to make use of Court Connected Alternative Dispute Resolution (CCADR) in managing their cases.

“One of the mechanisms that will help you assure quality justice delivery is the optimal use of Alternative Dispute Resolution (ADR). At the Circuit Court level, you will have to deal with a lot of litigation and Court-Connected Alternative Dispute Resolution (CCADR) mechanisms will help you stay ahead of your case load. Not only will it ease the flow of cases through your Courts, but it will also provide litigants with privacy, speed and reduced costs” she said.

The Attorney General and Minister for Justice, Ms. Gloria Akuffo, advised the new Judges to approach their work with dignity and all seriousness.

The President of the Association of Magistrates and Judges, Ghana (AMJG), His Lordship Justice Senyo Dzamefe, also entreated them to be straightforward in their judgments whiles giving reasons for their judgments. “Let litigants know why they won or lost a case” he said.

For his part, the National President of the Ghana Bar Association (GBA), Mr. Tony Forson Jnr, encouraged the Judges to constantly update their knowledge of the law whiles expressing the hope that they would be equipped with the necessary tools to do their work well.
