The new Justices of the second highest court of the land were appointed, due to the retirement of some Judges and also to man

President Akufo-Addo administered the Oath of Office, Oath of Secrecy and Judicial Oath to the 16 Justices, made up of 12 men and
four women at a colourful ceremony, attended by the Chief Justice, Her Ladyship Justice Gertrude Sackey Torkonoo, the Attorney–General

President Nana Akufo-Addo delivering his address
The President charged the newly appointed Justices to discharge their functions with utmost integrity according to their judicial
oaths and in fidelity to the law.
He urged them to work hard to dispense justice to the public, in an effective and expeditious manner without undue delay, and in
accordance with the law.
“As justices of the Court of Appeal, you will be at the forefront of those efforts and your contributions will be pivotal in shaping the
future of our Judiciary and of our society. One of the key challenges we face is the need to address the backlog of cases that continue
to burden our courts. Justice delayed as you know, is justice denied,” he said.
