
He received it from the President of the Ghana Olympic Committee, (GOC) Mr. Richard Akpokavie, who was accompanied by the Director-General of the National Sports Authority; Mr. Yaw Ampofo Ankrah, Member of Parliament for Klottey Korle Constituency; Hon. Zanetor Agyeman-Rawlings, as well as some members of the GOC and the sporting fraternity.
Justice Baffoe-Bonnie handed over the baton at a designated point on the John Evans Atta Mills High Street.

Accompanying the Acting Chief Justice was a Justice of the Supreme Court; His Lordship Justice Richard Adjei-Frimpong, the Acting Judicial Secretary; Dr. Cyracus B. Bapuuroh and a number of Directors and Deputy Directors of the Judicial Service of Ghana.

Ghana was a proud host of the King's Baton Relay, signifying her commitment to sportsmanship, discipline and international camaraderie.

The Baton Relay has been a tradition aimed at strengthening bonds within the Commonwealth.
