Chief Justice Gertrude Sackey Torkornoo has urged women Judges to take decisive action against negative cultural practices, emphasizing the urgent need for concerted efforts to address gender-based violence and female genital mutilation. “We must integrate legal principles with socio-cultural contexts to effectively combat these harmful practices," she stressed.

In line with her vision to mentor young people and educate them on the law, the Chief Justice, Her Ladyship Justice Gertrude Sackey Torkornoo has sworn-in five (5) elected Executives for the St. Mary’s Senior High School Justice Club.

The Chief Justice of Ghana, Justice Gertrude Sackey Torkornoo has met with selected stakeholder institutions to share with them the digitalization agenda of the Judicial Service, as it seeks to go full automation at every level of the court system.

The Chief Justice, Justice Gertrude Sackey Torkornoo has vowed to change the “tag of corruption, ineptitude and inefficiency” around the Judiciary and the Judicial Service and requests for the support of every segment of society to achieve that goal.

The Judicial Service has published 12 Administrative Guidelines and Practice Directions to increase transparency and due process in court work.

The Chief Justice, Justice Gertrude Sackey Torkornoo, has met with members of the Judicial Press Corps at the Media Room of the Law Court Complex in Accra. The purpose was to share with them information on the work the Judiciary has been doing since she took over its administration in June last year, to give the people of Ghana effective justice.

The Chief Justice, Justice Gertrude Sackey Torkornoo has received ICT Equipment from GIZ, on behalf of the Judicial Service of Ghana (JSG), to facilitate the work of the E-Judgment Secretariat. The items are; Twenty-Five (25) laptop computers and six (6) scanners.

A delegation from the Zenith University Law Students Association (ZUC-LSA) has  paid a courtesy call on theChief Justice, Justice Gertrude Sackey Torkornoo as part of the Association’s  Law Week Celebration and also to congratulate her on her elevation to the High Office of Chief Justice of Ghana.
