MESSAGE OF CONDOLENCE FROM THE ACTING CHIEF JUSTICE, THE JUDICIARY AND THE JUDICIAL SERVICE OF GHANA

The Acting Chief Justice, the entire Judiciary and the Judicial Service of Ghana, wish to extend their deepest condolences to the Family and Children of the late Former First Lady of the the Republic of Ghana, Her Excellency Mrs. Nana Konadu Agyeman-Rawlings.

Nana Konadu Agyeman-Rawlings was a woman of remarkable vision, courage, and conviction. Throughout her public life, she championed the causes of women and children, tirelessly advocating for gender equality and social justice. Her impactful work through the 31st December Women’s Movement stands as a testament to her enduring commitment to women and children’s empowerment, as well as national development.

GHANA’S COURT OF APPEAL JUDGE ELECTED TO ADVISORY COMMITTEE OF UN HUMAN RIGHTS COUNCIL

A Ghanaian Court of Appeal Court Judge, His Lordship Justice Edward Amoako Asante, who is also the immediate past President of the ECOWAS Court of Justice, has been elected to the prestigious Advisory Committee of the United Nations Human Rights Council, an 18-member think-thank for the Council.

Justice Asante, who will serve for an initial three years; renewable once, was one of the two judges from Africa elected during the 60th session of the Council that ended on Wednesday, 8th October 2025, to fill the seven vacancies in the Advisory Committee following the strong nomination of his country, the Republic of Ghana.
